RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO
AGREEMENT RE: SENIOR CITIZEN TAXICAB RATES
E IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
ILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS AS FOLLOWS:
,ECTION ONE: The Board ,of Trustees of the Village of Mount
~rospect hereby authorizes the Village President to sign and
he Village Clerk to attest an Agreement in substantially the
3ame form as Exhibit A attached hereto and incorporated herein
JY this reference, between the Village of Mount Prospect and
~obert Birks d/b/a Birks Transportation" which Agreement amends
~he Agreement Dated' September 1 19 80 by establishing taxicab
~ates and a subsidy for taxicab rates charged senior citizens
~or taxicab rides between the Village of Mount Prospect and
:ertain area hospitals.
SECTION TWO: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provi~ed
by láw.

AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
DATED 1980
This Agreement made and entered into this
day of
, 1980 by and between the Village of
Mount Prospect (hereinafter referred to as the "Village")
and Robert Birks d/b/a Birks Transportation Company (herein-
after referred to as "Birks").
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Village and Birks have executed an
Agreement dated
, 1980 establishing flat rate cab
fares for senior citizens' taxicab rides within the Village
and providing a Village subsidy to senior citizens for such
taxicab rides; and
WHEREAS, the Village is concerned about the availability
of transportation for senior citizens between locations within the
corporate limits of the Village and area hospitals; and
WHEREA$, the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village wish to assist senior citizens by establishing taxicab
fares for senior citizens for taxicab rides between points within
the Village and to area hospitals and by providing a Village subsidy
to sen~or citizens for such taxicab rides!
NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the
mutual covenants herein made, the parties do agree to and hereby
modify, alter and amend that certain Agreement dated September 1
1980 in the following respects only:

By redesignating the first paragraph of Section
One as "A." and by inserting thereafter a second paragraph
to be designated "B." and to read as follows:

B. Birks agrees to transport senior
citizens who comply with the procedures
set forth hereinafter in Section Three
between any point within the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Propsect
and Northwest Community Hospital for a
fare of three dollars and fifty cents
($3.50), and between any point within
the corporate limits of the Village of
Mount Prospect and Holy Family Hospital
fora fare of three dollars ($3.00),
except as provided in Section Five
of this Agreement.

By deleting subparagraph 3 of paragraph A of Section
Three and substituting therefore the following:

hereinafter, pay the taxicab driver
seventy-five cents ($.75) for a taxicab
ride within the corporate limits of the
Village of Mount Prospect, one dollar and
sixty-five cents ($1.65) for a taxicab
ride to or from Holy Family Hospital,
and two dollars and fifteen cents ($2.15)
for a taxicab ride to or from Northwest
Community Hospital.
3.
By deleting the language "seventy-five cents ($-.75)"
as it appears in the first sentence of Section Five, and by sub-
stituting therefore the word "amount", and by deleting the
language "seventy-five C$.75)à,sll as it appears in the second
sentence of Section Five and by substituting therefore the language
"the full amount".
IN WITNESS ~'¥HEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this
Agreement to be executed on the day and year first written above.
