ORDINANCE NO. 4943
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 8, ARTICLE XI (TELECOMMUNICATIONS)
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE iT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Section 8.1502 entitled "Definitions" of Article XV (Telecommunication Tax) of
Chapter 8 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the
definition for "Person" and substituting the following: so that hereafter said Section 8.105 shall include:
PERSON Any natural individual, firm, trust, estate, partnership, association, joint
stock company, joint venture, corporation, any receiver, trustee, guardian
or other representative appointed by order of any court, the Federal
government, state governments, state universities created by statute or
any city, town, county or other political subdivision of this State, subject to
any exceptions and/or exemptions expressly set forth in this Article."
SECTION TVVO: That Section 8.1503 entitled "Tax Imposed" of Article XI (Telecommunications Tax) of
Chapter 8 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding
thereto subsection "E"; so that hereafter said Section 8.1503 shall include the following:
E. The tax imposed by this Article is not imposed on interstate telecommunications or
intrastate telecommunications by any unit of local government and/or other local public
body, including but not limited to municipalities, school district, park districts, library
districts and fire protection districts."
SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage,
approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
