I CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL DISCUSSION WITH COMMONWEALTH EDISON REGARDING SYSTEM R~ELIABILITY AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE_ CAPABILITIES Over the past several years, Mount Prospect residents and businesses have voicea m~cre;~sH~(; dissatisfaction and frustration with the reliability of electric service provided by Commonwealth ~dison Company. The recent windstorm which hit the Village and surrounding towns in the early Incurs of Friday, May 29, resulted in extensive power outages throughout Mount Prospect. in many cases ~ took 36 hours or more for power to be restored to large areas of the Village. This latest event resulted in scores of phone calls to the Village Board in which residents and businesses expressed their extreme displeasure with the current state of affairs In response to the public's outcry, Mayor Farley sent a letter to Commonwealth Edison laying out tine community's concerns and asking for an opportunity to meet with Commonwealth Edisons representatives in a forum where these concerns could be discussed and solutions sought ,-'~$ {~ result of that request, Commonwealth Edison will appear before the Village Board for the purpose of discussing issues related to service reliability and emergency response, interested residents na~e peen encouraged to attend and provide oral or written comment regarding their concerns and issua$ Addiiionaliy, appropriate Village staff will be present to answer questions and facilitate discussion Ill.
