RESOLUTION NO. 58-99
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION OF
SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDING
FOR RAILROAD DEPOT IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect desires to make certain improvements to the Union
Pacific Railroad depot property within the Village; and
WHEREAS, this project will include improvements to the depot parking lot, sidewalks, grounds, and
bus,shelter; and
WHEREAS, the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors Transportation Committee has made
funding available for Northwest Municipal Conference member municipalities to assist in certain
surface transportation programs; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has the ability to fund the required amount as stipulated
by the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors Surface Transportation Program; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has exhibited a need which meets the requirements for
such funding;
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect, the Union Pacific Railroad, and the Illinois Department
of Transportation (IDOT) will coordinate efforts for completion of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby
support and consent to the application by the Village of Mount Prospect for Surface Transportation
Program Funding from the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors for improvements to the Union
Pacific Railroad depot property and bus shelter.
SECTION TWO: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
