HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 57-99 12/07/1999 WL 12/1/99 RESOLUTION NO. 57-99 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING APPLICATION OF SURFACE TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDING FOR STREET LIGHT INSTALLATION WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect and the Village of Arlington Heights desire to install street lights within a certain portion of each municipality necessary for more effective traffic control management; and WHEREAS, such installation of street lights would cover a portion of Algonquin Road, Busse Road, and Dempster Street, forming a triangle within the Village of Mount Prospect; and; WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect, the Village of Arlington Heights, and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will coordinate efforts for completion of this project; and WHEREAS, the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors Transportation Committee has made funding available for Northwest Municipal Conference member municipalities to assist in certain surface transportation programs; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has the ability to fund the required amount as stipulated by the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors Surface Transportation Program; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has exhibited a need which meets the requirements for such funding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby support and consent application by the Village of Mount Prospect for Surface Transportation Program Funding from the Northwest Municipal Council of Mayors for street light installation at the Algonquin Road/Busse Road/Dempster Street triangle within the Village. SECTION TWO: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
