A RESOLUTION TO REPEAL RESOLUTION NO. 11-99
RELATIVE TO NIGHTTIME WHISTLE BLOWING
BY WISCONSIN CENTRAL LTD. RAILROAD
WHEREAS, on March 2, 1999, the Village of Mount Prospect adopted Resolution No. 11-99
requesting the Wisconsin Central Ltd. Railroad to refrain from nighttime whistle blowing at all
highway-rail crossings from Camp McDonald Road through and including Kensington/Foundry
Road within the Village between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.; and
WHEREAS, on June 21, 1988, the Village of Mount Prospect adopted Ordinance No. 3953 which
Ordinance prohibits railroads from sounding any whistles or horns except when absolutely
necessary to prevent injury to persons or property at any location within the Village, at all hours;
and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect that the local requirements, as set forth in Ordinance No. 3953, adequately allow for
complete enforcement of those further designated in Resolution No. 11-99; and
WHEREAS, based upon that determination, it is no longer necessary for the Village of Mount
Prospect to acknowledge the requirements set forth in Resolution No. 11-99.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Resolution No. 11-99, approved by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Mount Prospect on March 2, 1999, is hereby repealed.
SECTION TWO: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval in the manner provided by law.
