Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 1:35 p.m.
Roll Call, James Powers, Chairperson
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Jeanna Claussen, Commissioner
William Knee, Commissioner
Also Present: John Koziol, Police Chief
Brian Lambel, Fire Chief
Absent: Rockne Bork, Commissioner

No one in attendance.
TRAINING BY STANARD & ASSOCIATESp'NC. FOR THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
Lory Newcomb attended the meeting to train the commissioners on the new interview process.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1
)-The Theappointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a
complaint lodged against an employee
to determine Its validity
2. For Training by Stanard &Associates, Inc. for the Interview Process
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Busse to go into Closed Session at
1:37 P.M.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session at 2:39 P.M.
Roll Call: Commissioner Busse, Commissioner Claussen, Commission Knee, and Chairman Powers
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of April 1, 2019.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel provided an update on personnel and new hires in the process. In future meetings, he
would like to discuss the new hire test and review the interview questions.
The new fire headquarters is on schedule.

Chief Koziol reported there are two people left on the eligibility list. Officer Chirila is currently at the
academy.
Commissioner Busse left the meeting at 2:44 p.m.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to return to closed session at 2:44 p.m.
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1)-The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity
2. To conduct Police Oral Interviews.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen to return to Closed Session.
Roll Call: Ayes: Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session at 9:56 p.m.
Roll Call: Chairman Powers, Commissioner Knee, and Commissioner Claussen.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Claussen and seconded by
Commissioner Knee to adjourn the meeting at 9:56 p.m.
