HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 24-19 06/18/2019 Approve a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the VOMP and the Mount Prospect Fire UnionORDINANCE NO. 6451 AN ORDINANCE AFFIRMING RESOLUTION NO. 8-18, "A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FINAL PLAT OF SUBDIVISION FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 801 E. RAND ROAD, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS (MOUNT PROSPECT POINTE)" WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect did adopt Resolution No. 8-18, entitled "A Resolution Approving a Final Plat of Subdivision for Property Located at 801 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, Illinois (Mount Prospect Pointe)" at their regular meeting on February 20, 2018; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 8-18 was recorded by the Cook County Recorder of Deeds, document number 1807906120, on March 20, 2018; and WHEREAS, at the request of the property owner's insurer and the property owner, the Village Board, pursuant to its home rule authority under the Illinois Constitution wishes to affirm the action taken by Resolution No. 8-18 in ordinance form by passage of this Ordinance Affirming Resolution No. 8-18, which included the vacating of certain Village Right of Way. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That Resolution 8-18 is hereby affirmed approving the Final Plat of Subdivision creating one (1) lot of record, vacating the north '/z of Thayer Street right-of-way, dedicating the southern thirty-three feet (33') of subject property to the Village and granting the required public easements along property lines for property located at 801 E. Rand Road, attached as Exhibit "A" SECTION TWO: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law. RAND ROAD, MOUNT PROSEPCT, ILLINOIS (MOUNT PROSPECT POINTE) WHEREAS, Speed-GMX Mount Prospect, LLC, (Petitioner) has requested approval of a Final Plat of Subdivision for the purpose of creating one (1) lot of record and granting the required easements along the property lines for the property located at 801 E. Rand Road ("Property") as legally described in Exhibit "A"; and THA I NAR I OF 'I'HE NORTH '/2 OF THE SOUTHWEST IA OF THE SOUTHWEST % OF SECTION 35, TOWNSHIP 42 NORTH, RANGE 11, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, LYING WEST OF RAND ROAD (EXCEPTING FROM SAID TRACT THE WEST 203.0 FEET THEREOF; AND EXCEPTING THE NORTH 33 FEET THEREOF; AND EXCEPTING THE SOUTH 33 FEET THEREOF), IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS TOGETHER WITH THAT PART OF THAYERS STREET IN THE WEST '/Z OF THE SOUTHWEST Y4 OF SECTION 35 TOWNSHIP 42 NORTH, RANGE 11 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, LYING WEST OF RAND ROAD AND LYING EAST OF THE EAST LINE OF THE WEST 203.00 FEET OF SAID SOUTHWEST'/, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS PIN(s): 03-35-302-006-0000 and 03-35-302-007-0000 WHEREAS, the plat 1) creates one (1) lot of record 2) vacates a portion (0.13 acres) of Thayer Street right-of-way 3) dedicates the southern thirty-three feet (33') of the Subject Property to the Village, and 4) creates easements as necessary for utility and walking path maintenance; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, A HOME RULE MUNICIPALITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: That the Final Plat of Subdivision creating one (1) lot of record and granting the required public easements along property lines for property located at 801 E. Rand Road attached as Exhibit "A" is hereby approved for appropriate execution and recording. Such Plat and its legal description are incorporated into and made part of this resolution. SECTION 2: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. Passed and Approved this 201h day of February, 2018 AYES: Grossi, Hatzis, Hoefert, Rogers, Saccotelli, Zadel NAYS: None ABSENT: None RESOLUTION NO. 23-19 A RESOL UTION SUPPORTING THE 14th ANNUAL NATIONAL DUMP THE PUMP DAY ON JUNE 20, 2019 WHEREAS, June 20, 2019 marks the 14th annual National Dump the Pump Day as a day that encourages people to ride public transportation to save money, revitalize communities, protect the environment, and improve the quality of life for all Americans; and WHEREAS, individuals in a two -person household can save an average of more than $10,160 annually by downsizing to one car; and WHEREAS, every $1 dollar invested in public transportation generates approximately $4 dollars in economic returns; and WHEREAS, the Regional Transportation Authority system ridership has exceeded 600 million for each year since 2006; and WHEREAS, Millennials have surpassed Generation X'ers and Baby Boomers as the largest share of the labor force and they demand good mass transit; and WHEREAS, more than 60% of those who commute to Chicago's Loop from outside Chicago's downtown use transit; and WHEREAS, every $1 billion invested in public transportation supports and creates more than 50,000 jobs; and WHEREAS, U.S. home values performed 42 percent better on average if they were located near public transportation with high -frequency service; and WHEREAS, U.S. public transportation use in the United States reduces our nation's carbon emissions by 37 million metric tons annually; and WHEREAS, public transportation plays a major role in maintaining the vitality of many municipal business districts and provides an option for our residents to commute without using their automobile. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: The Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby join with other public and private bodies across the country to participate in the 14TH ANNUAL NATIONAL DUMP THE PUMP DAY to encourage transit ridership. SECTION TWO: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. AYES: Grossi, Hatzis, Hoefert, Rogers, Saccotelli, Zadel NAYS: None ABSENT: None PASSED and APPROVED this 18th day of June, 2019 M� d Arl&iie""ace Mayor ATTEST: aren gora os Village Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 24-19 A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS AND THE MOUNT PROSPECT FIRE UNION, LOCAL 4119, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS, AFL-CIO (TERM OF JANUARY 1, 2019 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021) WHEREAS, the duly authorized representatives of the Village of Mount Prospect in good faith have negotiated a three- year collective bargaining agreement ("Agreement") with the Mount Prospect Fire Union, Local 4119 International Association of Fire Fighters concerning wages, hours, terms, and other conditions of employment for the term January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2021; and WHEREAS, the agreement has been lawfully and properly ratified by the membership of the Mount Prospect Fire Union, Local 4119 International Association of Fire Fighters; and WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect determined that it was in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect to authorize the "Agreement" between the Village of Mount Prospect and the Mount Prospect Fire Union, Local 4119 International Association of Fire Fighters and made part of this resolution as Exhibit "A". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, have reviewed and approved the "Agreement' between the Village of Mount Prospect and the Mount Prospect Fire Union, Local 4119 International Association of Fire Fighters attached as Exhibit "A" and made part of this Resolution. SECTION TWO: The Village Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this Resolution to the President of the Mount Prospect Fire Union, Local 4119 International Association of Fire Fighters. SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by the law.
