4.2 Envisio Presentation - Strategic Planning and Reporting Software

Discussion
On October 16, 2018, the Village Board approved the purchase of Envisio, a system to manage the creation, tracking
and reporting of the Village's strategic plan and key performance measures. The Envisio system includes the ability
for departments to align and measure annual goals and objectives prioritized by the Village Board and Manager.
Other key deliverables comprise of the capability to aggregate and calculate tabular data for performance measure
dashboards and the ability to share progress and performance with a public facing online dashboard.
Strategic Plan Manager
Align department action plans with the annual Strategic Plan and roll -up progress updates (1) within departments (2)
to the Village Manager's Office and (3) for the Village Board. Ability to track other department plans, measures and
any other items staff would like to report on that are not part of the Strategic Plan.
Performance Manager
The Performance Manager imports, aggregates & visualizes data. Create measures/performance dashboards for
departments, Village Board or residents. This can include data from a number of Village departments like Finance,
Community Development, Police and Fire.
Public Dashboard
Displays the Strategic Plan to residents, complete with progress and accomplishments staff are reporting throughout
the year. This dashboard could include key performance measures as well - it is up the staff and the Village Board
how many different performance measures are released publicly.
Implementation
Staff has been working with Envisio to gather the data necessary to launch both the Strategic Plan Manager and the
Performance Manager. The timing of this implementation has allowed the team to input the goals and responsible
departments included in the 2019 Strategic Plan, which was recently finalized. Staff has also collected data, such as
the number of building permits issued within a certain timeframe, to input in the Performance Manager system.
Representatives from Envisio will be on hand at this June 11 Committee of Whole meeting to give an overview of the
purpose of strategic planning, how the platform will help the Village achieve its goals, and how goal status is shared
both with the Village Board and the general public.

1. Discuss the overview of Envisio's Strategic Plan Manager.
2. Action at discretion of Village Board.
