MAYOR'S REPORT Subject 3.3 1st reading of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 (ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS) OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT. {This Ordinance will increase the number of Class F- 3 -V license by one (1) LA PRESA RESTAURANT INC. d/b/a LA PRESA RESTAURANT located at 401 E. Euclid, Mount Prospect,, Access Public Type Action Public Content CITrOT711411VI. t Me In April the Illinois Gaming Board approved a video gaming license for La Presa located at 401 E. Euclid. Staff from the Village Manager's Office and Community Development have met with owner and gaming supplier to review the site plan of the proposed gaming area. Attached is the application submittal along with proposed floor plan that has been reviewed and approved by the Village Manager. The proposed floor plan includes five gaming machines and one payment/d isbu rsement/ATM -type machine. To help restrict the gaming area to persons 21 years of age or older, the plan indicates partition walls with opaque glass with an entrance that separates the proposed gaming area. The partition wall will help screen the view of the gaming area while still allowing for monitoring of the area by the employees. The opening of the gaming area will be visible to an employee. No lighting or sounds from the gaming machines shall be visible or audible outside the segregated area. The work may include, if necessary, new electric circuits which will supply electricity to the video gaming machines. Any added window signage on window coverings shall comply with section 13.204.1(g) of the Village Code. The proposed design meets accessibility and egress requirements. It is the responsibility of the owner and operator to maintain egress., accessibility and Mount Prospect codes/ordinances at all times. A final inspection will be performed for any permitted work only after the installation of the video gaming devices., but prior to their use. It is the responsibility of the video gaming applicant and the gaming consultant to ensure that a final inspection is scheduled with the Village. All video monitoring equipment that complies with section 13.204.1 of the Village code shall be installed and functioning at the time of the final inspection. Approval of the video gaming devices by the State of Illinois does not constitute approval by the local authority, Mount Prospect, until such time a final inspection is approved and a license is paid to date locally. Alternatives 1. Approve ordinance decreasing the number of Class F-3 liquor licenses by one (1) and increasing the number of Class F -3-V license by one (1). 2. Action at discretion of Village Board. Staff Recommendation Both the business owner and proposed video gaming consultant have been cooperative and intend to comply with all Mount Prospect ordinances and codes.
