MINUTES
January 7, 2019

Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m,.
Roll Call: James Powers, Chairperson
Rockne Bork, Commissioner
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Jeanna Claussen, Commissioner
William Knee, Commissioner
Also Present: Brian Lambel, Fire Chief
John Koziol, Police Chief
John Dolan, Deputy Fire Chief
Tim Cassidy, Battalion Chief

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of December 3, 2018.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel reported two officers completed their probationary period.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Koziol reported on staffing and the two police recruits who are starting the academy today.
DISCUSS THE NE''ilU" HIRE TEST FOR. POLICE OFFICER
Chief Koziol reported the department is looking to conduct a new police recruit test. He advised the
school is available on April 14, and he recommended holding the orientation before the written exam on
that date. After a brief discussion, the Board Members concurred with the Chiefs recommendation.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity
2. To Approved the Closed Session Minutes of December 3, 2018.
3. To conduct Fire Department Oral Interviews.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Claussen to go into Closed Session at
3:06 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
Police Chief Koziol and Fire Chief Lambel left the meeting.

The Board returned to Open Session with Chairman Powers, Commissioner Busse and Commission
Claussen present at 8:29 p.m..
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner
Claussen to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Powers, Busse, Claussen Nays: None Motion Carried
