3.2 1st reading of an ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 (ALCOHOLIC LIQUORS) OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT. �This Ordinance will increase the number of Class F-3

Information
On Thursday, January 31, 2019, the Village Manager and Executive Assistant met with Mr. Tommy Yi and his wife Annie Yi
regarding their request for the creation of a new Class F-3 Liquor License. The Class F-3 Liquor License provides for the sale
of alcoholic beverages at a restaurant with a lounge.
The building is a total of 2400 square feet and is the former location of Rokudenashi, which closed in July 2017. Owning his
restaurant will be an "American" dream for Mr. Yi and fulfill his passion of serving Korean style food from his home land.
Both Mr. & Mrs. Yi along with family members intend to make this venture their full-time endeavor and will be on site as the
management/wait staff team. Mr. Yi has met with appropriate Village staff and plans no major change to the interior decor
other than cleaning and painting. Lunch and dinner will be served seven days a week. Mr. Yi plans to have a karaoke lounge
with operational hours of 9:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. weekdays and 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on weekends. A late night menu will
be available.
Both Mr. & Mrs. Yi completed Basset classroom training and indicated they understood their obligations in this regard. The
requirements of the Village"s Fight Ordinance and the need for all employees involved in the delivery of alcohol to complete
,i certified liquor servers training course was also discussed.
Alternatives
1. Motion to approve the Ordinance.
2. Action at discretion of Village Board.
Staff Recommendation
A completed application as well as all other required documentation is on file. If the Village Board views this application
favorably, an Ordinance creating a new Class "F-3" License would be recommended for adoption.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: That in accordance with Subsection A of Section 13.108 of Chapter 13 of the Village Code
of Mount Prospect, as amended, the Corporate Authorities shall determine the number of Liquor Licenses
available in each Classification and shall establish a list specifying the number of Liquor Licenses
authorized. Said list is hereby amended increasing the number of Class "F-3" Liquor Licenses by One
(1) Yl & Yl LLC D/B/A NEW SHINJUKU located at 1750 W. GOLF ROAD. Said list is as follows:
