However, staff contacted their references and all were satisfactory. Also, staff interviewed the firm's head of tree operations to clarify their capabilities and make certain their leadership held a thorough understanding of the specifications and Village performance expectations. Pursuant to this discussion, staff is confident the firm can successfully complete the work at prices indicated. Tree quantities and sizes utilized in the bid documents are estimated and can vary based on found field conditions and weather, as could the total number of hours for emergency services. Therefore, staff recommends awarding a contract for the budgeted amount for contractual tree removals, which is $155,000. 431 1. Accept lowest cost, responsive bid for parkway tree removals. 2. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that the Village Board accept the lowest cost, responsive bid for the 2019 and 2020 parkway tree removal contract in an amount not to exceed $155,000 in 2019.
