On Tuesday, January 8, 2019 Village Manager, Community Development Director and Executive Assistant met with Mr. Joe Irick regarding his
request for the creation of a new Class "F3" liquor license for the Brick City restaurant located at 34 S. Main Street. Class "F-3" license provides for
the full service of alcohol in a restaurant with lounge.
Mr. Irick is seeking to purchase this location for his pizza pub concept offering a broad variety of pizza while keeping the sports bar theme. Mr.
Irick has an extensive amount of knowledge and experience in the hospitality industry. He has owned/operated restaurants for the past 16 years
across three states and was the Director of Operations for the largest Jimmy Johns franchise where he grew the company from 5 to 35 units.
Recently he owned and operated Grinders Pizza in San Francisco. He will be looking to feature wines from the California coast, adding a superb
cocktail list as well. Mr. Irick is also a former pizza critic for the Tribune and understands competition for the best pizza in the Chicagoland area.
Mr. Irick does not plan to close the restaurant or make any interior d6cor changes, rather transition over the first few weeks reviewing and training
current staff and focusing on new menu items out of the kitchen. He intends to change the name of the restaurant to Station 34 after a smooth
transition of concept and menu. He will be featuring catering and pizza delivery along with an eye-catching outdoor patio for increased outdoor
dining curb appeal.
Discussed with the applicant were the requirements of the Village's Liquor Code including the need to be mindful of sales to minors as well a
obviously intoxicated persons. Also discussed was the need for new managers to be fingerprinted and all employees involved in the delivery
alcohol to complete a certified liquor servers training course. The requirements of the Village's Fight Ordinance were also discussed. I
Alternatives
1. Motion to approve the Ordinance.
2. Action at discretion of Village Board
Staff Recommendation
A completed application along with fees and required documents including fingerprints and background check have been submitted. If the Village
Board views this application favorably, an Ordinance creating a new class "F-3" license is recommended with deletion of the current license upon
completion of sale.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE
VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS:
SECTION ONE: That in accordance with Subsection A of Section 13.108 of Chapter 13 of the Village Code
of Mount Prospect, as amended, the Corporate Authorities shall determine the number of Liquor Licenses
available in each Classification and shall establish a list specifying the number of Liquor Licenses
authorized. Said list is hereby amended increasing the number of Class "F-3-" Liquor Licenses by One
(1) IRICK INVESTMENTS LLC D/B/A BRICK CITY located at 34 S. MAIN STREET Said list is as follows:
