Call to Order 9:10 a.m.
Attendance Teresa VanOpDorp, Jill Friedrichs, Paul Seils, Sandy DiCaro, Maura Drews, Brian
Lambel, Christina Greco, Tarina Wimmer, Fred Steinmiller, Vicki Busse and Mayor Arlene Juracek

Citizens to be Heard None
Mayor Juracek shared her appreciation and thanks to the members for their service. She talked
about the New Years Eve Eve cancellation. This year there are great Shining Star Winners
showing a positive, caring vibe within the Village. The Mayor also conveyed that there is still
pushback on the selected venue, we should try to be creative to get the event back in Mount
Prospect. Finally, she acknowledged the SEC resignations of Kate Kelly and Liz Stone Witkowski.
Secretary's Report
Minutes of December 1, 2018 presented to members. Motion to accept Minutes of December
1, 2018 made by Sandy DiCaro, seconded by Tarina Wimmer. No discussion. Motion
approved unanimously.
Houselkeelpliiing
Minutes of November 3, 2018 presented to members for approval. Motion to accept Minutes of
November 3, 2018 made by Vicki Busse, seconded by Maura Drews. No discussion.
Motion approved unanimously.
Finances Review
New Years Eve Eve has been canceled. The SEC owes Bizar Entertainment (DJ) a deposit of
$300 for the cancelation. Other discussion was held about refunds for various purchases made
for NYEE.
House Decorating
*Possibly add a "Griswald" category.
*Advertise the contest (better).
*Give ornament instead of plaque.
*Change up/create new categories.
Shining Star Gala
*Sponsor monies received: Byte Me Computers, Friedrichs Funeral Home, Mount Prospect Lions
Club and Accounting, A -Express Towing.
*Sponsor commitments: River Trails Park District, B&E Accounting, American Water, Arrow
Construction.
*Teresa will resend the solicitation email on Monday.
*Tablescape: Navy, Navy pattern and Ivory.
*Backdrop: Navy with white logo/lettering.
*Floral: Greenery with white flowers and gold dish.
*Ticket sales: 50ish.
*Have contacted but not heard back from the cigar person.
*Verify if "Cathy" will be doing the set-up and take-down.
*If Bears are in the Super Bowl make napkin color choice orange.
*Basket of props for pictures.

*Food to be served on 2 levels.
*SEC members to serve food - will be more time efficient.

*Food: Chicken fingers, Mac & Cheese and Salad

*Maura: balloons, head pieces
