Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 5:47 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session Minutes of June 4, 2018.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Knee.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
No one in attendance.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Koziol reported the department has seven recruits in the academy. The two recruits at Cook
County will graduate two weeks from Friday and information on the graduation will be forwarded to the
Board. Chief Koziol reported on staffing and in anticipation of a possible retirement at the end of the year,
he is starting one candidate through the process.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel reported contract negotiations are going well. He briefly updated the Board on recruits
and any staffing issues. Additionally, he requested interview dates for the Fire Department.
FIRE DEPARTMENT NEW HIRE TEST UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel reported they are up to 101 applicants.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity
2. To approve the Closed Session minutes of June 4, 2018.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Busse to go into Closed
Session at 5:57 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to open session at 6:10 P.M.
Roll Call: Chairman Powers, Commissioner Bork, Commissioner Busse, Commission Claussen, and
Commissioner Knee.

OTHER BUSINESS
The Board discussed interview dates for interviewing 10 candidates in one night. After a brief discussion,
the Board agreed to August 271h at 1:30 p.m. Chairman Powers, Commissioner Knee and Commissioner
Bork volunteered for the interviews.
The next regular meeting will be held on September 24th at 5:45 p.m.
Chairman Powers will present the Annual Report to the Village Board on September 18, 2018.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner
Claussen to adjourn the meeting at 6:18 p.m.
