Emerson Street on May 31, 2018, for the purposes of a park/open space for the Downtown. While under contract to purchase, staff advertised and issued a bid opportunity for the demolition of the existing single-family homes and flat restoration of the sites on May 25, 2018. On June 1, 2018, a walk-through and open house was held for interested demolition contractors. Also on this day, the Village had environmental consultants on site to perform an environmental survey of the existing properties. This survey was received on June 5 and was provided to the contractors in attendance at the open house. Seven contractors submitted bids on June 7, 2018 and the results were as follows: Delta Demolition$71,000 Salman Builders$72,000 Albrecht Enterprises$88,500 A1 Fowler$90,000 Dynamic Contracting$91,000 McDonagh Demolition$93,021 American Demolition$101,499 Delta Demolition has a long history of successful demolition projects throughout the northwest suburbs and City of Chicago. They are listed as a Class A Demolition firm with the City of Chicago, which is the highest qualification level offered by the City. After discussion with the contractor, staff is confident the scope of work is covered with this proposal and that the contractor can meet the timeframe to demolish these two properties and restore with grass seed and erosion control blanket before the start of Block Party in July. If this proposal is approved, Delta Demolition is prepared to begin the environmental remediation by June 25, at which time a construction fence will also be erected. https://www.boarddocs.com/il/vomp/Board.nsf/Private?open&login6/26/2018 BoardDocs® ProPage 2 of 2 In related matters, the Community Development Department released an RFP for a .33 acre "Edwin and Elsie Meyn Busse" pocket park for this site.
