Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m..
Roll Call: James Powers, Chairman
Rockne Bork, Commissioner
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Jeanna Claussen, Commissioner
William Knee, Commissioner
CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
No one in attendance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session Minutes of
February 5, 2018, March 5, 2018, March 8, 2018, March 19, 2018, and March 20, 2018
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Knee.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel reported the promotional process is going well. Tim Cassidy was hired to fill the
Training Officer position. He provided a brief status on staffing, retirements and candidates in the hiring
process. Chief Lambel stated they will be testing again at the beginning of the year and negotiations with
the union will start around the end of May.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Koziol reported on upcoming retirements in the police department and our newest police officers,
Officer Sobotka, Officer Richardson, Officer Lee, and Officer Martynowicz. There was a discussion
regarding the next group of candidates. One candidate declined and another candidate requested a
pass for this time, which led to a brief discussion. Commissioner Bork said he did a ride -along with
Officer Nelson and was very impressed.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity
2. To approve the Closed Session minutes of February 5, 2018, March 5, 2018, March 8, 2018,
March 19, 2018, and March 20, 2018.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bork to go into Closed
Session at 6:07 p.m.

OTHER BUSINESS
After a discussion regarding the request from candidate Zornow, they agreed the candidate would need
to put his request in writing.
The next Board meeting will be on June 4, 2018.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner
Claussen to adjourn the meeting at 6:19 p.m.
