On December 5,2017 the Village Board approved Ordinance No. 6353, an Ordinance to Amend Water and Sewer rates set
forth in Appendix A, Division II, Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois. During review by the codifiers, an error was
discovered on page 2 of the ordinance pertaining to rates effective for water bills rendered on or after January 1, 2019.
Specifically, due to a scriveners error, the 4 inch meter rate was erroneously stated at $27.00; the correct rate for a 4
inch meter is $37.00. The ordinance presented corrects this error.
Alternatives
1. Village Board approval of an ordinance correcting scriveners' error in Ordinance No. 6353, amending water and sewer
rates set forth in Appendix A, Division of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois
2. Action at discretion of Village Board.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE CORRECTING SCRIVERNER'S ERROR IN ORDINANCE NO. 6353,
AMENDING WATER AND SEWER RATES SET FORTH IN APPENDIX A, DIVISION II,
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect did adopt Ordinance No. 6353, entitled "An Ordinance to
Amend Water and Sewer Rates Set Forth in Appendix A, Division II, Village Code of Mount Prospect,
Illinois" at their regular meeting on December 5, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the Village has learned that a scrivener's error has been made in Sec. 9.410, "Water Rates"
effecting rates for water bills rendered on or after January 1, 2019; and
WHEREAS, the Village wishes to correct this scrivener's error by amending Ordinance No. 6353 to reflect
the accurate monthly base fee for a 4 inch meter to $37.00; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority granted under the Illinois Municipal Code and in accordance with
home rule authority granted to home rule municipalities, the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect approve the amendments set forth below.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: Appendix A, Section 9.410, "Water Rates" to Division II, "Fees, Rates and Taxes," to
Chapter 9, "Public Utilities, Pavement and Tree Regulations," to the Mount Prospect Village Code shall be
corrected to read in its entirety as follows:
Sec. 9.410 WATER RATES
The following rates are effective for water bills rendered on or after January 1, 2019:
A. All village water users within the village, having a direct or indirect connection with village
water mains or pipes: $10.33 per 1,000 gallons of water consumed or portion thereof.
All village water users within the village shall have the following monthly Base Fees per
account:
