Recommended Action Approve a resolution for improvement by municipality under the Illinois Highway Code to
facilitate the expenditure of accrued motor fuel tax funds on the 2018 street resurfacing
program.
Information
Attached please find a resolution authorizing the appropriation of 2018 Motor Fuel Tax funds ($550,000) for the purpose
of improving streets and highways within the Village of Mount Prospect.
These funds will supplement $4,202,000 appropriated from the Street Construction Fund. A total of $4,752,000
($4,202,000 from the Street Construction Fund and $550,000 from the Motor Fuel Tax Fund) is presently slated to fund
street resurfacing work in 2018.
Work anticipated for 2018 includes approximately seven (7) miles of street resurfacing and several full -depth pavement
patches.
The Illinois Department of Transportation requires this type of resolution from all municipalities prior to expending Motor
Fuel Tax Funds.

1. Pass a resolution for improvement by municipality under the Illinois Highway Code.
2. Action at discretion of Village Board.
