CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order at 7:03 p.m. Members present Arlene Juracek, William Grossi, Eleni Hatzis, Paul Hoefert, Richard Rogers, Colleen Saccotelli Member Absent Michael Zadel 1.1 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - Trustee Richard Rogers Posting of Colors by the Mount Prospect Police and Fire Department Honor Guard with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Trustee Rogers 1.2 INVOCATION - Trustee Colleen Saccotelli Trustee Saccotelli provided the Invocation. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2.1 Approve minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Village Board on August 22, 2017 Motion by Paul Hoefert, second by Richard Rogers to approve the August 22, 2017 minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Village Board. Yea: William Grossi, Eleni Hatzis, Paul Hoefert, Richard Rogers, Colleen Saccotelli Absent: Michael Zadel Motion Carries 3. MAYOR'S REPORT 3.1 PROCLAMATION: September 11th - National Day of Service and Remembrance Mayor Juracek presented the proclamation to Fire Chief Brian Lambel and Acting Chief of Police Mike Eterno who proudly and humbly accepted it on behalf of their departments. 3.2 PROCLAMATION: Constitution Day and Citizenship Day, September 17, 2017 — Constitution Week, September 17 -September 22, 2017 Village Clerk Karen Agoranos accepted the proclamation presented by Mayor Juracek. The proclamation will be displayed at Village Hall. 3.3 PROCLAMATION: Chamber of Commerce Week - September 11-15, 2017 Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dawn Fletcher Collins accepted the proclamation presented by Mayor Juracek and thanked the Board for their continued support of the Chamber and the work they do. Ms. Collins stated that out of respect, honor and remembrance, there will be no Chamber activities celebrated on September 11. Chamber activities planned for Chamber of Commerce Week will begin on September 12. Mayor Juracek thanked Ms. Collins and the Chamber for working hard to sustain Mount Prospect's vital business community. 3.4 PROCLAMATION: National Ovarian Cancer Month - September 2017 Mayor Juracek read the proclamation and noted the importance of raising public awareness of this serious health challenge facing women of all ages. The proclamation will be displayed at Village Hall through the month of September. 4. COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD None 5. CONSENT AGENDA Motion by Paul Hoefert, second by Richard Rogers to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Yea: William Grossi, Eleni Hatzis, Paul Hoefert, Richard Rogers, Colleen Saccotelli Absent: Michael Zadel Motion Carries 5.1 List of Bills - August 9 - August 29, 2017 Approve List of Bills 5.2 Motion to waive the rule requiring two readings of an ordinance and adopt AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5 (BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS), ARTICLE XV (SISTER CITIES COMMISSION), SECTION 05 (ANNUAL REPORT) OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT VILLAGE CODE — This ordinance amends the Village Code by changing the date of the commission presentation to the Mayor and Board of Trustees from September to November to coincide with National French Week in November. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT 8.1 Motion to accept bid for the Village Hall Parking Garage Interior Painting Project in an amount not to exceed $33,865. Public Works Director Sean Dorsey presented a brief background, staff recommendation and answered questions from the Board. Mr. Dorsey stated this project is for a two (2) year period beginning in 2017 with a completion date by the end of 2018. The Village Hall Parking Garage was assessed as part of the Village's building maintenance program and it was determined the garage is in need of re -painting of all interior walls, ceilings, doors, parking bumpers, pipes, pipe hangers etc. Eight (8) bids were received for this project. The lowest cost bid was received by BP & T Company in Mount Prospect. BP & T has performed several recent painting projects for the Village and their work has been acceptable. In addition, they submitted several references that were favorable. Mr. Dorsey provided the following answers to auestions from the Board: • Painting the inside walls of the garage enhances the aesthetics and brightens the interior. • All surfaces will be power -washed prior to paint application • BP & T maintains general liability insurance Motion by Paul Hoefert, second by William Grossi to accept the lowest cost, responsive bid for a two (2) -year Village Hall Parking Garage Interior Painting contract as submitted by BP & T Co. of Mount Prospect, Illinois in an amount not to exceed $33,865. Yea: William Grossi, Eleni Hatzis, Paul Hoefert, Richard Rogers, Colleen Saccotelli Absent: Michael Zadel Motion Carries VBA 60-17 9. ANY OTHER BUSINESS Village Manager Michael Cassady announced the following upcoming community events: • Talk n' Chalk - September 9 • Street Fest at Randhurst Mall - September 9 from noon to 5:00 p.m. (*the actual hours of Street Fest are 11 a.m. to 5:00 P.M.*) • Sister Cities French Market - Sunday September 10 10. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to discuss Mayor Juracek asked for a motion to adjourn. Trustee Hoefert, second by Trustee Grossi moved to adjourn the meeting.
