HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 5071 12/21/1999 ORDINANCE NO. 5071 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE VILLAGE CODE Passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees the 21st day of December, 1999 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the 22nd day of December, 1999 VWL/ 12/10/99 ORDINANCE NO. 5071 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE VILLAGE CODE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPEC% COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE.' That Section 14.1802 entitled "Permitted Uses" of Chapter 14 of the Village Code, as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the following: "Automobile sales, new or used. Boat showroom, sales and repair. Drive-through and drive-in establishments. Hotels and motels." and adding the following; "Automobile sales, new or used with a minimum lot size of two (2) acres." SECTION TVVO: That Section 14.1803 entitled "Conditional Uses" of Chapter 14 of the Village Code, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding the following: "Automobile sales, new or used with a lot size of less than two (2) acres. Boat showroom, sales and repair. Drive-through and drive-in establishments. Hotels and motels. Motorcycle, snowmobile, or personal watercraft sales." S_ ECT!ON THREE: That Subsection 14.306.E entitled "Permitted Obstructions In Required Yards," as amended, is hereby further amended by deleting the following: "1. Open steps and terraces. 4. Service walks up to five feet (5') in width may encroach in the required front yard; service walks up to three feet (3') in width may encroach in the required side and rear yards." and adding the following: "1. Open stoops and canopies. 4. Service walks, sidewalks, steps, and handicap ramps up to five feet (5') in width may encroach in the required front yard; service, sidewalks, and steps up to three feet (3') in width may encroach in the required side and rear yards. 8. Landscape terraces and retaining walls, subject to approval by the Engineering Division and issuance of a building permit." age 2/2 Amend Ch. 14 SECTION FOUR: That Section 14.2401 entitled "Definitions" of Chapter 14 of the Village Code, as amended, is hereby further amended by including, in proper sequence, the following definitions: "CANOPY: A roof-like structure, without walls, screens, or windows, that projects from the building wall, covering a stoop, and does not exceed the dimensions of the stoop. STOOP: A platform at the entrance to a building with maximum dimensions of five feet (5') of width and five feet (5') of depth." SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
