MINUTES
June 28, 2017

Acting Chairperson Hinaber called the meeting to order at 3:07 p.m.
Roll Call: Jackie Hinaber, Acting Chairperson
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Charles Bennett, Commissioner

The purpose of this meeting was to conduct Police Department Oral Interviews. Acting Chairperson Hinaber
asked for a motion to go into Closed Session.
CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to go into Closed
Session at 3:09 p.m. to conduct oral interviews under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) - The appointment,
employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body,
including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.
Roll Call: Ayes: Hinaber, Bennett, Busse Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session at 5:50 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to establish the list for
police entrance as we have arrived at through the process pending final mathematical review of the scores.
Roll Call: Ayes: Hinaber, Busse, Bennett Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to return to Closed
Session at 5:53 p.m. under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation,
discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a
complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.
The Board returned to Open Session at 6:00 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session and
Chairperson Powers.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Busse to remove the following
candidates no longer interested in continuing in the process from the pool of candidates.

A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to remove the following
candidates who failed to return applications. Peter Mader, David Bekov, James Siemers

A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Busse to remove Cory Nissen
from further consideration.
Roll Call: Ayes: Hinaber, Bennett, Busse, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner
Busse to adjourn the meeting at 6:02 p.m.
