MINUTES
September 14, 2017

Chairman Powers called the meeting to order at 2:56 p.m.
Roll Call: James Powers, Chairman
Rockne Bork, Commissioner
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Staff Present: Robert Smith, Commander
Edward Szmergalski, Commander

The purpose of this meeting was to conduct Police Department Oral Interviews. Chairman Powers asked for a
motion to go into Closed Session.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairman Powers asked for a motion to go into Closed Session for:
a. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) - The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on
a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.
b. To Conduct Police Department Oral Interviews.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bork to go into Closed Session
at 2:57 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session at 10:37 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session.
Chairman Powers asked for a motion to approve the list from Closed Session.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bork.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
With no further business, the Chairman asked for a motion to adjourn.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Bork to adjourn the meeting at
10:40 p.m.
