MINUTES
January 31, 2017

Acting Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.
Roll Call: James Powers, Acting Chairperson
Charles Bennett, Commissioner
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Excused: Michaele Skowron, Chairperson
Jackie Hinaber, Commissioner
Also Present: John Dolan, Deputy Fire Chief
Kevin Wilson, Battalion Chief

CLOSED SESSION
Acting Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into Closed Session at 2:46 p.m. under Personnel 5
ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of
specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an
employee to determine its validity, and to conduct Fire Department background oral interviews.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Busse.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bennett, Busse, Powers Nays: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to open session with everyone present from the previous session.
Acting Chairperson Powers stated the Board concluded the interviews and identified fifteen (15)
individuals meeting the criteria to advance to the next level and three (3) individuals who did not pass
would be removed from the list.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Busse.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bennett, Busse, Powers Nays: None Motion Carried
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner
Busse to adjourn the meeting.
