RE: COFFEE WITH COUNCIL 2/8/92
The monthly Coffee with Council was held on February 8, 1992.
Representing the Village were Trustee Clowes, Trustee Hoefert, Village
Manager John Fulton Dixon and Director of Inspection Services Chuck
Bencic.
Mr. Bill Kurczodyna - 518 Hill Street - raised some questions on the
Cable T.V. contract for the Village. Mr. Dixon explained we are in
the 11th year of a 15 year contract. Trustee Clowes and Trustee Hoefert
explained that talks and negotiations are ongoing with the cable company
to try to improve the system.
Mr. Kurczodyna stated he had read the Park District had purchased a
portion of the Christian Life Academy property and asked if the Village
knew what use the property would be put to. Trustee Clowes indicated
he had- no knowledge of the use. Both Trustees thought the property
would be used for playfields.
Mr. Razhesh N Gandhi - 342 So. Maple - asked of .the status of an
agreement for parking in the Maple St. parking lot. Mr. Dixon informed
him the Village Attorney was preparing the agreement and hoped it would
be done by the end of February. Mr. Gandhi asked if he could review
a copy of the agreement before Village action was taken on it. Mr.
Dixon said he would try to get a draft copy of the agreement to Mr.
Gandhi within the next few weeks. Mr. Gandhi expressed his thanks
to -Mr. Dixon and Dave Clements for their cooperation in this matter.
Mr. David Schein - 512 So. Na wa Ta - asked if RJN had considered use
of WEGO Park for detention if the Lincoln School property was not
available. Neither Mr. Dixon or Chuck Bencic knew if the Park had
been considered but we will find out from RJN.

Mr. Schein asked if the Can Dota sewer was part of the original 14
Million Dollar project or if it was an additional project. Mr. Dixon
informed him it was a combination of two projects from the original
14 Million Dollar estimated cost.
Mr. Schein asked what the village Boards position was on the proposed
auditorium at Lincoln School. Trustee Clowes indicated the majority
of the Board seemed favorable to the idea but he still had some
reservations on it.
Colonel Arthur asked about the status of any plans to improve Linneman
Road. Mr. Dixon explained we still have right-of-way missing in some
areas but we do have the right to improve the existing pavement in
those areas. Colonel Arthur recommends the village proceed with
condemnation to obtain the necessary R.O.W.
Colonel Arthur objected to the NTN signs at Opus and felt if these
signs were allowed to stay, other signs would have to be allowed also.
Trustees Clowes and Hoefert felt that because this property was covered
by a P.U.D., other signs would not necessarily have to be approved.
Trustee Hoefert pointed out that there are many instances where one
.property owner is granted a variance but it does not mean all property
owners with similar requests will receive approval.
Colonel Arthur stated he felt the police should become more active
in ticketing offenders of the handicap parking regulations.
Mr. Mel Spizzo - 710 No. Russel - had a complaint about his neighbor
who shovels snow from his driveway onto Mr. Spizzo's grass. Mr. Spizzo
said when the neighbors wife shovels the snow she places it on her
own property but when the husband shovels, he throws the snow on Mr.
Spizzo's property and when the snow melts his property stays wet for
days. Mr. Dixon told him we would have the Engineering Division check
the drainage between the lots to see if the drainage has been altered.
Trustee Hoefert asked if Mr. Spizzo had talked to his neighbor on this
matter. He said he had but the neighbor continues to do it.
