Persons in attendance were past Village Trustee Ralph Arthur, Mrs. Edward Cavello, David Schein, Andrew Schein and Frank Vlazny. Mr. Vlazny voiced his concerns about the TIF formula as it relates to school districts. He brought up the fact that in the state of Illinois there are 945 school districts and Mount Prospect supports six school districts that feed into our main High School District #214. The Trustees present explained the lack of authority the Village really has over school districts. Mr. Vlazny felt that the Village should get more involved in attempting to look closer at a unit school district system. A general informational discussion followed. Colonel Arthur brought forth concerns about the current cable system and wanted to know when they would be eliminating the cable box residents are required to have in their homes. Village Manager Janonis explained that this has been a point of discussion with TCI. He assured Colonel Arthur that staff has been intricately involved with TCI relative to this issue and other problems concerning our current cable system. Mr. Schein wanted to express appreciation to the Mayor and Board of Trustees for their extensive review of the current garbage program and was quite pleased that the garbage program will remain the same. He also thanked the Trustees for their careful review of the requests by Catholic Charities for housing in the TIF district. Trustees present then asked the Village Manager for additional information on TIF financing, and a general discussion was held about various programs relative to tax increment financing. The meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m. , at which time the Trustees then toured the Police and Fire Headquarters with the Village Manager, the Police and Fire Chiefs, Colonel Arthur and Mrs. Cavello. They were brought up to date by Project Director Joe Kolanowski on the status of the facility. The tour ended at 12:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, 9t at J Ronald W. Pavlock Chief of Police
