MORGAN TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN began her career with the Village of Mount Prospect on August 6, 1984 as Human Services Coordinator in the Health Services Department; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN was instrumental in the transition of Human Services from a Division under the Village Manager's Office to the Department of Human Services in 1993; WHEREAS, due to her exemplary worts ethic and leadership NANCY M. MORGAN was selected as the first Director of the newly designated Department of Human Services; since 1993 she has remained the first and only Director of the Department of Human Services; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN has dedicated substantial time, energy, and effort to the successful development of innovative programs to enhance social, nursing and inter -departmental services to Mount Prospect residents of all ages; Visions Committee; Visions' Family Issues Subcommittee and Mount Prospect Mentor Program; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN has exemplified the highest standards of public service and stewardship - successfully leading a Human Services Department responsible for a multitude of diverse programs and services essential to the quality of life in Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN was instrumental in the formation of TAP Mount Prospect (Teens and Parents for a Better Mount Prospect) to promote youth as responsible citizens; TAP was a first place recipient of the Govemor's Hometown Award in 1995; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN has consistently represented the Village well in her service to regional and professional organizations including the Wheeling Township Disabilities Advisory Council, United Way Board, Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights Rotary Club and the American Cancer Society Board; and WHEREAS, in 2013 NANCY M. MORGAN was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Social Workers for her thirty-four year career in the field of social work; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN has always been faithful to the Village of Mount Prospect and has held her position of Director of Human Services as a sacred duty that has served the Village of Mount Prospect and its residents well; and WHEREAS, NANCY M. MORGAN will be sorely missed by her colleagues, peers and a grateful community and she will be fondly remembered for her devotion and the imprint she has left on Mount Prospect. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE. That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby acknowledge and recognize NANCY M. MORGAN for her nearty 30 years of exceptional service to the Village and do hereby express our sincere gratitude for her leadership, compassion, innumerable contributions and devotion to the residents of Mount Prospect, SECTION TWO: That, as she enters the twilight of a career that defines the epitome of public service, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby extend to NANCY M. MORGAN best wishes for good health and happiness in her retirement. SECTION THREE: That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby declare Thursday, February 20, 2014 as "NANCY M. MORGAN DAY" in the Village of Mount Prospect. SECTION FOUR: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and presented to NANCY M. MORGAN as a perpetual memento. SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. AYES: MayorArtene A. Juracek, Trustees Paul Wm. Hoefert, A.
