JUNE 3, 1982
The Finance Commission meeting was called to order at 8:05 PM by Chairman
Ronchetto.
Commission members present: Chairman Ronchetto, Commissioners Coventry
and Bachhuber.
Also present: Assistant Village Manager Hedges and
Director of Management Services Hedstrom.
Chairman Ronchetto stated that since a quorum was not present, an informal
discussion would take place regarding the agendas topic of reviewing self -
funding proposals for employees Health and Life Insurance. This was agreeable
to the other commissioners present.
Assistant Village Manager Hedges then reviewed the history of Health and Life
Insurance and the steps taken to arrive at the summary of proposals submitted
at this meeting. Mention was made of the fact that the Village Board had
indicated tentative approval of the increased health benefits and self -funding
concept at the Committee of the Whole meeting of May 11, 1982, that the pro-
posals discussed at this meeting also would be presented, along with a recom-
mendation, to the Mayor and Village Board at the Committee of the Whole meeting
on June 8, 1982 for formal approval at the regularly scheduled Board meeting
of June 15, 1982. This timing would permit the recommendation to include the
Finance Commission's findings and formal implementation on July 1, 1982.
A general discussion covering the details of the proposals submitted by the
five interested administrators followed, resulting in numerous questions and
answers as well as suggestions.
Following this discussion the meeting was adjourned at 10:10.
