FINANCE COMMISSION
JANUARY 13, 1983
Minutes
The Finance Commission meeting was called to order at 7:35 PM by
Chairman Ronchetto.
Commission Members present were: Chairman Ronchetto, Commission-
ers Coventry, Hallman, Holloway and Smilanic. Commissioner Bachhuber
arrived at 7:55 PM.
Also present were: Candidate for Village Trustee Van Geem, Newspaper
reporter Laura Carlson, Assistant Village Manager Hedges and Director
of Management Services Hedstrom; Village Manager Burghard arrived at
9:15 PM.
Minutes of the October 4, 1982 meeting were approved as presented.
Chairman Ronchetto brought up the topic of personnel counts and Assis-
tant Village Manager Hedges distributed copies of current staffings
by department. Discussion followed with explanations for each major
department.
Revenues were reviewed with questions and answers regarding rationale
for increases or decreases in certain line items. Mention was made
that the General Fund revenues include a new item of $45,000 for
1983-84 for a proposed Crossing Guards real estate tax levy.
Following the revenue discussion, a review of expenses on a department -
by -department basis took place. Explanations were given for shifting
and consolidating various programs and personnel. A new program,
Cable TV, was covered in some detail regarding timing, coverage and
costs.
Chairman Ronchetto concluded the meeting by asking the other Commiss-
ioners to furnish him with areas that they would like covered in a
subsequent meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 PM.
