Those elected officials in attendance were: Mayor Gerald Farley, Trustees Daniel Nocchi, Richard Lohrstofer, Irvana Wilks and Paul Hoefert. Representing staff were: Village Manager Michael Janonis and Fire Chief Michael Figolah. Village residents present were: Denise Rominski 210 South Main Street, Mount Prospect Jim Corman 1348 Indigo Lane, Mount Prospect Tom and Barbara Neitzke 17 South Maple Street, Mount Prospect Mr. Corman opened the discussion with concerns regarding the Wisconsin Central Railroad. In specific, Mr. Corman asked the Village Manager about the double tracking and when that was expected to begin. Mr. Janonis responded that the Village would be putting together a meeting to be held in the near future, but was unsure of specific location, date and time. Mr. Janonis will follow-up with information regarding future meetings. Mrs. Rominski had several issues for discussion. The first issue dealt with an ongoing problem with deliveries to the White Hen Pantry. Though she thanked the Village for their assistance in setting up allowable delivery times, she complained that deliveries are not always occurring during those times. Some deliveries are still occurring at 3:00 AM. Also, the trucks are complying with shutting down their engines during the deliveries. Mrs. Rominski explained that this problem has been continuing for one year. Trustee Hoefert stated that he would be willing to call the corporate office if needed. Mayor Farley suggested asking the Northwest Municipal Conference for input on local ordinances of other communities regarding night deliveries. Mr. Janonis stated that he will speak with White Hen to mitigate this situation. Mrs. Rominski also stated of concerns regarding the PADS site at St. Mark's Church. The residents of the site arrive before the doors open so as to secure a spot. St. Mark's will only allow thirty participants at one time. While waiting for the doors to open, Mrs. Rominski has witnessed PADS residents urinating on the church property; between trailers. When she called the church, they directed her to call 911. When she called the police, it took one-half hour to arrive. Mr. Janonis will discuss this issue with the Police Chief. Mr. Neitzke asked about the reimbursement of funds for his facade renovation. The work was completed in November, 1996. Mr. Janonis stated that he would need to investigate this issue and respond back to Mr. Neitzke soon. Mr. Neitzke also elaborated on his concerns with redevelopment of the downtown and the associated loss of historic structures. Specifically, the red sided building at the corner of Northwest Highway and Main Street was discussed in detail. The elected officials reflected their concern for same. Trustee Hoefert stated that concerned residents should work on a plan for saving and restoring these structures. The possibility of providing space in the downtown area for historical buildings may fit into the plan. This would require moving buildings to a new location. This option will be considered. The loss of business in the downtown area, due to redevelopment, was also a concern of Mr. Neitzke's. A lengthy discussion ensued without the need for action. The meeting was adjourned at 10:40 AM. Respectfully submitted, Michael J. Figolah Fire Chief
