HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/13/1996 CWC minutesMINUTES COFFEE WITH COUNCIL Saturday, January 13, 1996 9:00 a.m. 2nd Floor Conference Room, Village Hall Mayor Farley convened the meeting at 9:00 a.m. Those present were: Mayor Gerald Farley, Trustees Michaele Skowron, Irvana Wilks and Tim Corcoran. Representing staff were Village Manager Michael Janonis and Community Development Director Bill Cooney. Residential Development at Southeast Corner of Wolf and Kensington Roads Residents in Attendance: Roger O'Donnell 1605 Dogwood John Kocinski 1604 Dogwood Jeannette DeCaluwe 1606 Dogwood Kate Porretta 1609 Dogwood Jeane Gormans 1609 Cedar Lane Karol Marsh 1608 Dogwood Jean and Olin Apgar 1608 Cedar Lane These residents showed up to voice their concerns regarding the proposed residential development at the southeast corner of Wolf and Kensington Roads. They had attended the public hearing in Des Plaines regarding this matter on January 9th and had several concerns with the mariner in which it was discussed. They inquired into what the Village had done regarding this project. Mayor Farley informed the residents that the Village has had several discussions with the City of Des Plaines regarding this matter and that the Village has some significant concerns with the proposal. In addition, legal staff is investigating the Village's authority with requiring a fifty foot dedication on the south half of the Kensington Road right-of-way. Staff has also contacted Commonwealth Edison to alert them of the proposed retention basin within their easement. The Des Plaines Zoning Board has approved a preliminary plan conditioned upon the resolution of many of these issues. Staff will be meeting with representatives from Des Plaines to further review these issues and ensure that our concerns are addressed. The Mayor informed the residents that they would be notified when this matter would be discussed by the Des Plaines City Council to ensure their representation.
