IV. TELEVISION SERVICES PROGRAMMING EVALUATION REPORT
Mount Prospect's Television Services Division has been cablecasting Village
programming since 1986. The role of Mount Prospect's cable channels is evolving due
to changes in video technology and resident's viewing habits. Staff will be on hand
to discuss these impacts and suggest recommendations for future programming.
V. UPDATE OF OLD TOWN SANITARY DISTRICT
In July 2015, Governor Rauner signed House Bill 3273 into public law which provided a
mechanism for the dissolution of certain sanitary districts. The Old Town Sanitary
District (OTSD) is one of the sanitary districts in the State of Illinois that satisfies the
dissolution criterion of this law.
The OTSD was a separate sanitary district that provided wastewater collection
conveyance to a somewhat contiguous group of properties dispersed across several
municipal boundaries including the City of Prospect Heights and the Villages of Arlington
Heights, Wheeling, and Mount Prospect.
Pursuant to the new state law, the OTSD sewer service areas within Mount Prospect
corporate limits are now the village's responsibility.
Staff will make a presentation identifying the impacts of this dissolution including an
examination of the service areas, discussion of conveyed sewer assets, and delineation
of operational concerns.
