Call to Order:
I.Meeting was called to Order at 5:46 p.m.
Roll Call:
II.Skip Farley,George Busse, John Eilering,Georgia Mitchell, and
Mayor Arlene Juracekwere in attendance. Paula Randant was absent.
Approval ofMinutes:
III.Minutes of the September 8, 2015meeting were
reviewed. John Eilering made a motion to approve. It was seconded by George
Busse.Minutes approved.
Citizens to be heard
IV.:None
Old Business:
V.
A.Our number one choice for twinning Hamelindeclined to follow upon our
interest. The other three, Luneberg Norderstedt, and Stade have not
responded.
B.We have received no additional feedback from Taylor Woodruffwho is with
the International Sister Cities organization. Mayor Juracek will contact
Taylor on March 29. Uponreview of the Sister Cities Web page, there
appears to be only one German City seeking a twin, Sassnitz. This city of
9,500 is in the far north part of Germany and is known for their white cliffs
and their ferry to Sweden. Its proximity to Poland may prove interesting since
Polish is the third most prevalent language spoken in Mount Prospect.
New Business:
VI.
A.Mayor Juracek will share portions of the Sister Cities Newsletter which may
be of some interest to Committee members.
B.John Eilering is travelling to central and southern Germany next week and
will visit a few homes in two different German cities. He will discuss our
interest in twinning and see if it leads to any opportunities.
Other Business:
VII.
A.Some other alternatives include keeping our ears to the ground, posting our
efforts in the village newsletter and ask Paulato continue her efforts.
Next Meeting:
VIII.Will be determined based on responses received from contacts
made.

IX.Chairman Farley adjourned the meeting at 6:08 p.m.
