December 14, 2015

Chairperson Skowron called the meeting to order at 5:45 p.m.
Roll Call: Michaele Skowron, Chairperson
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Jackie Hinaber, Commissioner (arrived during Closed Session)
James Powers, Commissioner
Excused: Charles Bennett, Commissioner
Also Present: Timothy Janowick, Chief of Police
Brian Lambel, Interim Fire Chief
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Open Session Minutes of October 28, 2015.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Chairperson Skowron.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Open Meeting Minutes of October 29, 2015.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Powers.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Open Meeting Minutes of October 30, 2015.
A motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner Busse.

POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
No report.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Lambel reported on staffing. He also reported he met with Attorney Hill regarding the rules and
regulations and the new hire process.

CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to go into closed session under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -
The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees
of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine
its validity.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Powers to go into Closed
Session at 5:53 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to open session at 6:19 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session and
Commissioner Hinaber who arrived during Closed Session.
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the list of fire candidates and status of each
individual on the list.
A motion was made by Commissioner Hinaber and seconded by Commissioner Busse.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Hinaber, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
APPROVAL OF FIRE LIEUTENANT PROMOTIONAL LIST
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to table this item,
A motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner Busse.

The Board discussed their availability the last week of December for a short meeting to approve the Fire
Lieutenant Promotional List. As soon as the list is prepared, the Board will be notified.
Other Business
At the request of Chairperson Skowron, Chief Janowick provided a brief update on the tour of the building
by the Village Board and Finance Commission.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 4, 2016, at 5:45 p.m.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner
Busse to adjourn the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
