Minutes of the Meeting
March 26, 2015
1St Floor Community Center
Village Hall 50 S. Emerson Street
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:03p.m. Those present included Chairman Vince
Grochocinski and Commissioners Pam Bazan, Trisha Chokshi, John Kellerhals, Tom
Pekras and Don Ocwieja. Finance Director David Erb was also in attendance.
II. Approval of Minutes
February 5, 2015 - Commissioner Tom Pekras motioned to approve the minutes. Trisha
Chokshi seconded the motion. Motion passed.
III. Citizens to be Heard
There were not any citizens to be heard.
IV. Old Business
a. A brief discussion was held to finalize the 2015 Finance Commission Work Plan.
V. New Business
a. There was a discussion of the property tax levy. Multiple options were discussed.
Further discussion will occur at the May meeting after the joint financial planning
workshop.
b. Finance Director Dave Erb discussed issues at the State of Illinois resulting in the
large variances in telecommunication Tax receipts.
c. An Economic Development discussion was on the agenda but was deferred to a
future meeting.
VI. Other Business
There was no other business.
VII. Chairman's Report
There was no Chairman's Report.
VIII. Finance Director's Report
Finance Director Erb talked briefly about the material consequences to the Village of the
State withholding a significantly larger portion of the income tax. The State retaining and
not distributing to the municipalities an additional portion of the income tax is a
possibility. Mr. Erb also discussed the joint meeting with the Village Board.
IX. Next Meeting_ February 27, 2014
The next meeting will be Thursday, May 28, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall, 1st Floor
Community Center.
X. Adjournment
Commissioner Kellerhals moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Bazan seconded
the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 9:30pm.
