OCTOBER 21, 2015
I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:20 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room of
the Village Hall, 50 South Emerson Street by Mayor Arlene Juracek. Trustees present
included Paul Hoefert (via telephone), John Matuszak, Steven Polit, Richard Rogers,
Colleen Saccotelli and Michael Zadel. Staff present included Village Manager Michael
Cassady, Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Administrative Analyst
Alexander Bertolucci.
II. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
None.
III. VILLAGE BOARD STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP
Lyle Sumek, Lyle Sumek Associates Inc., held a discussion with the Village Board
regarding strategic planning. This workshop builds on the existing strategic plan to
create actionable objectives for 2016 and establishes priorities for the next three to
five years. He reviewed 2015 departmental successes and identified the importance of
linking successes to the strategic plan. Then the Village Board completed several
activities to further clarify the Village's vision, guiding principles and mission.
The discussion and progress made during this meeting is the initial step of developing
goals for the next five years and institutionalizing a strategic planning process.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
Meeting adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
