MINUTES MEETING August 3, 2015

Call to Order:
I.Meeting was called to Order at 5:50 p.m.
Roll Call:
II.Skip Farley, GeorgeBusse, Paula Randant, Mayor Arlene Juracek in
attendance. Citizens-Tim Corcoran.John Eilering and Georgia Mitchell absent.
Approval ofMinutes of May 4, 2015 meeting
III.:Minutes were reviewed. George
Busse made a motion to approve. It was seconded by Paula Randant. Minutes
approved.
Citizens to be heard:
IV.Tim Corcoran,a former Trustee, attended meeting at the
invitation of Chairman Farley. Mr. Corcoran works for a German company (ZF
Services, LLC). He offered to assist with contact in any way he could. He travels
to Germany often. His next trip is October to Frankfurt. He could visit the
consulate.
Old Business:
V.
A)International Sister Cities contact-Mayor Arlene Juracek. Discussion ensued
around information sent to Sister Cities International and packet for
presentation to 3 cities.
Lunenburg, Stade and Norderstedt. Consulate representative had been on
vacation but has returned and will be presenting our packet of Village
information to each Mayor or their representative. We are hoping to have
some information by our next meeting.
B)Direct contact is preferred once we have an indication that a city would like to
proceed. Tim Corcoran is available to make such a contact in October.
New Business
VI.
A)Comments by the Mayor Arlene Juracek
Arlene shared the contact information from Taylor Woodruffof Sister Cities
International. Taylor had informed our committee that they were very
impressed with our letter and brochures and supporting materials. He would
like to use Mount Prospect’s materials as a model for other cities seeking
cities. He asked for permission to share the information. Mayor Juracek
granted permission. Good job Mayor and Public Information OfficerMarianthi
Thanopoulos.

A)Looking for other opportunities of contact-no other business
Next Meeting:
VIII. September 8, 2015, 5:45p.m. at Mount Prospect Public Library,
prior to Village Board Meeting. Tim Corcoran to attend.
