Northwest Highway Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056 Phone 847/870-5656 BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES SPECIAL MEETING April 20, 2015 Public Safety Building Fire Department Conference Room Chairperson Skowron called the special meeting to order at 5:45 p.m. Roll Call: Michaele Skowron, Chairperson Charles Bennett, Commissioner Jackie Hinaber, Commissioner James Powers, Commissioner Absent: Mark Busse, Commissioner Also Present: Everette Hill, BOFPC Attorney Timothy Janowick, Chief of Police John Malcolm, Fire Chief Michael Eterno, Deputy Chief of Police CITIZENS TO BE HEARD No one in attendance. DISCUSS REVISIONS TO THE BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS RULES AND REGULATIONS Chief Janowick discussed with members of Board the proposed changes drafted by Attorney Hill for their review. Most of the changes are minor and will include requirements for taking the test, which are included in our recruiting packet, but not in the rules and regulations. Additional changes are necessary for clarification of the requirements such as, the physical ability test requirement and phases of examinations or evaluations. The Board concurred with the changes presented and asked Mr. Hill to complete the changes for the Board's review and approval at their next meeting. Mr. Hill left the meeting at 6:59 p.m. Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to go into closed session. CLOSED SESSION A motion was made by Commissioner Hinaber and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to go into Closed Session at 7:02 p.m. under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1)-The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity, and to approve closed session minutes. Roll Call: Ayes: Bennett, Hinaber, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Motion Carried The Board returned to open session at 7:12 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session. Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to remove Dennis McMillan from the Police Eligibility List due to the fact he has accepted employment with somewhere else. A motion was made by Commissioner Hinaber and seconded by Commissioner Bennett.
