FINANCE COMMISSION
Minutes of the Meeting
October 30, 2014
Finance Department Conference Room
50 South Emerson Street
I.Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:14p.m. Those present included Chairman Vince
Grochocinski and Commissioners Pam Bazan, Trisha Chokshi, John Kellerhals, Tom
Pekras and Don Ocwieja.
Also in attendance was Steve Zalusky, Daily Herald reporter.
II.Approval of Minutes
a.October 16, 2014 - Commissioner Tom Pekras motioned to approve the minutes.
Pam Bazan seconded the motion. Minutes approved.
b.October 23, 2014 – Minutes were deferred to a future meeting.
III.Citizens to be Heard
Steve Zalusky, Daily Herald - Questioned how the addition of an IT person allows for an
additional police officer on the street. The current IT position is filled with a sworn
officer. The new position will be a civilian employee permitting the sworn officer to
resume patrol duties. General discussion followed.
IV.Old Business
c.Review of the Proposed 2015 Village Budget – see attached for outline of Finance
Commission recommendations resulting from this discussion.
V.New Business
The was no new business to discuss.
VI.Other Business
There was no other business to discuss.

There was no Chairman report.
VIII.Finance Director’s Report
There was no Finance Director Report.

IX.Next Meeting: October 16, 2014
Commissioner Pekras moved to cancel the next scheduled meeting for November 6,
2014. Commissioner Kellerhals seconded the motion. Motion passed. Next meeting
TBD.
X.Adjournment
Commissioner Kellerhals moved to adjourn the meeting and Commissioner Trisha
Chokshi seconded the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 9:27 PM
