Chairperson Skowron called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m.
Roll Call: Michaele Skowron, Chairperson
Charles Bennett, Commissioner
Jackie Hinaber, Commissioner(arrived 5:58 p.m.)
James Powers, Commissioner
Absent: Mark Busse, Commissioner
Also Present: Timothy Janowick, Chief of Police
John Malcolm, Fire Chief
Henry Dawson, Deputy Fire Chief
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Open Session Minutes of November 3, 2014.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Powers.
Voice Vote: Ayes: Bennett, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
No one in attendance.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Malcolm briefly updated the Board on staffing, including retirements and promotions. There was a
brief discussion regarding Fire Department tests for next year. The Chief also informed the Board two
candidates were given a conditional offer and are in the hiring process.
Deputy Chief Dawson was excused from the meeting at 5:54 p.m.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Janowick reported Officer Nowak retired on November 29, 2014, and the Chief invited the Board to
attend Officer Nowak's Proclamation on December 2nd at the Village Board Meeting.
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to go into closed session.
CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Powers to go into Closed
Session at 5:56 p.m. under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1)-The appointment, employment, compensation,
discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing testimony
on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity, and to approve closed session
minutes.

The Board returned to open session at 6:18 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session and
Commissioner Hinaber(arrived during Closed Session).
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Probationary Firefighter/Paramedic Final
Eligibility List dated January 15,2015.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner Powers.

Chairperson Skowron reported the Board conducted a Semi-Annual Review of the Closed Session Minutes and
it was the consensus of the Board to maintain the minutes as confidential.
OTHER BUSINESS
The Board briefly discussed the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association conference they
attended.
Chairperson Skowron scheduled the next two meetings as follows: January 5, 2015 and February 2,
2015.
The Board also discussed gathering to tour Northwest Central Dispatch on Tuesday, January 13th, at 9:00
a.m. The Fire Chief and Police Chief will make arrangements and the Board will finalize details at their
next meeting.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner
Bennett to adjourn the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
