JURACEKAND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM:ACTING VILLAGE MANAGERDAVID STRAHL DATE:JANUARY 15, 2015 SUBJECT:TRUCOMP LLC. d/b/a TRUCO TAQUERIA & MARGARITA BAR 211RANDHURST VILLAGE DRIVE REQUEST FOR CLASS “F3” LIQUOR LICENSE On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, the Acting Village Manager and Administrative Assistant to the regardinga request for the Village Manager met with Ms. Carrie Nahlawiand Mr. Richard Munoz creation of a new Class “F3” liquor licenseat theirnewly constructed Randhurst Village location near the AMC Theater.Also present was manager Ms. Cristal Montero-Franco and consultant Mr. Eddie Nahlawi. The Class “F-3” license provides for the full service of alcohol in a restaurant with lounge. Ms. Nahlawi and Mr. Munoz havean extensive amount of knowledgeandexperience inthe restaurant industry. The Randhurst Village Center will be their fourthrestaurant location. This newest site,Trucowill be a smaller version of Mago’slocated inArlington Heights, South Barrington and Bolingbrook.The total building square footage is 3,130square feetwith an estimated 80 seats inside and an outdoor patio.The colorful and uplifting restaurant will feature a Mexican fare and specialize in tacosandmargaritascomplimenting this entertainment corner of Randhurst. Trucowill be open seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to midnightserving lunch and dinner.Amid-Februaryopening is anticipated. The Acting Village Manager discussed at length the Village’s particular sensitivity to the sale of alcohol to minors or clearly intoxicated persons. The requirements of the Village’s Fight Ordinance were also discussed. The Acting Village Manager made it very clear to all present that the restaurant managers were responsible for the actions of all restaurant employees with regard to the service of alcohol. Also discussed was the need for all employees involved in the deliveryof alcohol to complete a certified liquor servers training course. A completed application as well as all other required documentation is on file. All members and managershave completed background checks, fingerprinting and Basset certificationin association with theTrucoapplication. Asrequired by the Liquor Code additionalmanagers and individuals involved with the sale and service of alcohol must complete a certified liquor servers training course. If the Village Board views this application favorably, an Ordinance creating a new Class “F3” License would be recommended for adoption.
