Call to Order
I.: by Chairman Skip Farley at 5:51 pm.
Roll Call
II.: Skip Farley, John Eilering, and Paula Randant were in attendance.
George Busse arrived at 5:53 pm. Georgia Mitchell was absent.
Approval of Minutes
III.: On a motion by John Eilering and a second by Paula
Randant, the minutes of the meeting held on November 3, 2014 were approved.
Citizens to be heard
IV.: No citizens came forward
Old Business
V.:
A. There was nothing to report on communication with Hamelin, Germany.
John Eilering will email Mayor Juracek and request an update on her efforts.
Mayor Juracek reported that she has received no reply at this time on Tuesday
morning, December 2.
B. Review of Sub Committee communications
1)Busse has not received any feedback from his outreach to the Meyn
family. He will contact the Mount Prospect Historical Society to
investigate additional German cities that our early settlers came from.
2)Mitchell has not received feedback from two other cities she was to
contact.
3)Randant discovered that she would not be the appropriate party to contact
Sister City International. They require a village official, consequently she
will ask Marianthi to make this contact.
4)Eilering reported that his communication with the German Consulate in
Chicago was frustrating. The person he spoke with stated that helping us
out with a twinning city would be quite difficult. The same person
suggested that we try contacting Sister City International. When Eilering
reported that we had, she replied that we should keep trying. She closed by
stating that the Consulate could not make a recommendation.
New Business
VI.: The subcommittee will continue to follow up on twinning with
Hamelin, and if there is no success, we will take recommendations from Sister
City International.
Other Business
VII.: For now, the subcommittee will continue to meet monthly.
Next Meeting
VIII.: January 5, 2015 at 5:45 p.m. at the Mount Prospect Public
Library, if available.

IX.: The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m. by Chairman Farley.
