A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT
OF AN ACTING VILLAGE MANAGER
Preamble
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is a home rule municipal corporation; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is an Article V Managerial form of government
pursuant to the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/5-1-1 et.seq.; and
WHEREAS, there is in place, in the Village, a currently serving Village Manager appointed and
functioning under such Article V. However, the Mayor and Board of Trustees have determined
that there is a temporary absence in the office of Village Manager. The law provides that in
such instances the Mayor and Board of Trustees may appoint an Acting Manager to perform the
duties of an Article V manager.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, ACTING PURSUANT
TO ITS HOME RULE POWER, RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: David Strahl, the Assistant Village Manager, is hereby appointed, pursuant to the
Mount Prospect Municipal Code at Section 4.102 (C) and 65 ILCS 5/5-3-7 as Acting Village
Manager of the Village of Mount Prospect in the absence and in the stead of the currently
appointed Village Manager. This appointment shall be in full force and effect from and after the
adoption of this Resolution and shall continue in effect until such time as the Mayor and Board
of Trustees shall cause its rescission.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
