November 3, 2014

Chairperson Skowron called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m.
Roll Call: Michaele Skowron, Chairperson
Charles Bennett, Commissioner
Mark Busse, Commissioner
Jackie Hinaber, Commissioner
James Powers, Commissioner
Also Present: Timothy Griffin, Deputy Chief of Police
Henry Dawson, Deputy Fire Chief
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to approve the Open Session Minutes of October 6, 2014.
A motion was made by Commissioner Powers and seconded by Commissioner Bennett.
Voice Vote: Ayes: Bennett, Busse, Hinaber, Powers, Skowron Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
CITIZENS TO BE HEARD
No one in attendance.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Deputy Chief Dawson reported personnel information for the Fire Department and informed the Board the
Fire Department is at full staff.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Deputy Chief Griffin reported Officer Nowak is retiring November 29, 2014. Deputy Chief Griffin invited
the board members to attend Officer Stearns' graduation on December 19, 2014, at the Suburban Law
Enforcement Academy at 1:00 p.m.
Chairperson Skowron asked for a motion to go into closed session.
CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Hinaber and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to go into
Closed Session at 5:50 p.m. under Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1)-The appointment, employment,
compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including
hearing testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity, and to approve
closed session minutes.

The Board returned to open session at 6:07 p.m. with everyone present from the previous session.
OTHER BUSINESS
Chairperson Skowron reminded everyone of the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association
Conference this weekend.
Chairperson Skowron scheduled the next two meetings as follows: December 1, 2014 and January 5,
2015.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner
Busse to adjourn the meeting at 6:09 P.M.
