Minutes of the Meeting
February 26, 2014

Village Hall 50 S. Emerson Street
1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:03p.m. Those present included Chairman Vince
Grochocinski and Commissioners Pam Bazan, John Kellerhals, Tom Pekras and Don
Ocwieja. Commissioner Jim Gregory was absent. Finance Director David Erb was also
in attendance.
Additional attendees were Mount Prospect resident Norb Mizwicki and Mr. Joe Knoll, a
member of the Mount Prospect Fire Department and Fire Pension Board.
Il. Approval of Minutes
a. January 23, 2014, Commissioner Tom Pekras motioned to approve the minutes
and Commissioner John Kellerhals seconded the motion. Motion passed.
III. Citizens to be Heard
There were no citizens to be heard.
IV. Old Business
The 2014 Finance Commission work plan was finalized.
V. New Business
a. Downstate Pension Review - Finance Director Erb gave a very informative
presentation on the Police and Fire Pension Fund including results of the annual
the actuarial valuation report and impact the results had on the 2013 property tax
levy.
b. Appointment of Commission Officers — Appointment of Finance Commission
Officers for 2014 were made. Commissioner John Kellerhals will continue as
Vice-Chairman and Don Ocwieja will continue as Secretary. A motion to accept
the appointments was made by Commissioner Pekras and Seconded by
Commissioner Bazan. Motion passed.
VI. Other Business
There was no other business.
VII. Chairman's Report
There was nothing to report.

VIII. Finance Director's Report
Finance Director Erb talked about the water damage to the Village Hall due to a broken
sprinkler head located above the 3d Floor Executive Conference room. Director Erb also
mentioned that due to the severe winter Public Works has significantly exceeded its
budget for snowplowing and road salt for 2014
IX. Next Meeting: February 27, 2014
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 27, 2014, 6:00 p.m. at Village Hall, 1 St Floor
Community Center.
X. Adjournment
Commissioner Pekras motioned to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Bazan seconded
the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M.
