CALL TO ORDER 3:00 pm Members present: Sharon Anderson, Alexander Bertolucci, Gerald “Skip” II. ROLL CALL Farley, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Jessica Thunberg, and Christy Watychowicz. Members absent: Lisa Blaszinski and Linda Hoefert. Ex-officio members present: Arlene Juracek and Mike Janonis. Ex-officio members absent: Marianthi Thanopoulos Public present: Richard Mayer, Journal reporter III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES January 8, 2014 Meeting Minutes. Skip Floros moved and Anderson seconded approval. Motion passed. IV. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD. NONE V. OLD BUSINESS A. Report: Communications subcommittee – John Zulaski, Jessica Thunberg Thunberg presented Website Recommendations w/ hardcopy handout. Website handout suggested look of pull down menus and topics. -Landing Page: Must identify individual to maintain page. -History of Mt. Prospect: Zulaski volunteered to own. -Celebration Events: Anderson volunteered to own. Suggestion made to add photos after events. -Skip Farley and Floros will obtain sponsors. They will send names to Thanopoulos. Recognition of sponsors. -“How can I help?” Must develop criteria for calling an event CENTENNIAL. Organizations should use Logo for branding event as CENTENNIAL -Celebration Resources: no volunteer -Commission Members: Each commission member should start thinking about answering the question “What is being a Commission member mean to you?” -Timeline: March and April for review, comment, and sub-committee to develop content. May meeting commission vote to discuss and approve navigation. B. Report: Harper College help with logo – Alex Bertolucci, Jessica Thunberg, Jean Murphy Special mtg for Logo w/Harper Students. Bertolucci is the contact for tech side. Committee offered Tues, May 13 at 4:00 Village Hall to Harper Students. Harper students aren’t available. Harper students offered Tuesday, June 3 at 4:00 pm at Village Hall. Via email the Committee accepted. VI. NEW BUSINESS A. Finish working through white board ideas from November meeting See attached document. 1. Is the idea one we would like to use? 2. Would it fit well into our yearly themes of Diversity (2015), History (2016) and Celebration (2016) and when would we do it? 3. Would it raise funds to help pay for the entire celebration? 4. Would it further communication about the anniversary (ie. public art, logo on water tower, white lights, banners etc.) 5. Would it further strengthen our knowledge of and appreciation for the Village’s past? (ie. collection of photos, video reminiscences of residents, re-enactment of the signing of the papers of incorporation etc.) 6. Is anyone interested enough in the activity to spearhead it? 7. Is it affordable? 8. Any other criteria we should use? VII. OTHER BUSINESS None VIII. NEXT MEETING May 7, 2014 – 3:00 p.m. Village Hall IX. ADJOURN Floros moved. Skip Farley seconded. Motion passed.
