Recommended Action Accept the lowest cost bid for the 2019 and 2020 turf mowing contract as submitted
by Allscape, Inc., of Romeoville, Illinois in an amount not to exceed $83,790 in year
one (1). Year two (2) will be in an amount appropriated in the 2020 budget but will
not exceed $83,790. Staff also recommends that the Village Board authorize a one
(1) year extension of the contract (2021) if the contractor agrees to hold prices.

Bids were recently opened for turf mowing of publicly owned sites throughout Mount Prospect. The scope of
work includes over 1.4 million square feet, over 38 acres, of weekly growing season mowing at 87 distinct
rtites including rights-of-way, Village -owned properties, and various other sites. Bidders submitted a weekly
cost to mow each
The contract period includes calendar years 2019 and 2020. Additionally, the specifications provide an option
to extend the contract for a third year (2021) at 2020 prices if both the contractor and the Village agree.
BID RESULTS
Twelve invitational bids were mailed, a notice was published in a local newspaper, and the bid was placed on
the Village's website. Three bids,• - no .. letter were received.:. results are shown below.

The lowest bidder, Allscape, Inc. of Romeoville, Illinois successfully completed the Village's turf mowing
contract in 2017-18 with good results. Additionally, they submitted all the required documentation along with
their bid submittal. Reference checks all indicate acceptable performance on recent projects with similar
scale and scope. Staff is confident the firm is qualified to successfully complete the proposed projects at the
prices bid.

Staff recommends that the Village Board accept the lowest cost bid for the 2019 and 2020 turf mowing
contract as submitted by Allscape, Inc., of Romeoville, Illinois in an amount not to exceed $83,790 in year
one (1). Year two (2) will be in an amount appropriated in the 2020 budget but will not exceed $83,790.
