In the current budget, there are funds available to replace vehicle 2707. This vehicle is a 2009 Ford Explorer XLT, four wheel
drive with 127,850 miles. This vehicle is used by the Deputy Director • Public Works to provide transportation for •
• •
This vehicle has been evaluated utilizing Public Works detailed comprehensive replacement policy. This policy uses a point -
based criterion that rates the following four (4) major factors: Age, mileage, repair & maintenance (R&M) cost, and condition of
the body/mechanical components. A point total equaling or exceeding eleven (11) out of sixteen (16) indicates the vehicle
should be replaced.
This vehicle scored a total of fourteen (14) points; a high rating indicating replacement. The vehicle condition evaluation forms
and summary report have been attached as Exhibits A and B respectively. Additionally, life cycle cost analyses are included in
Exhibit C. Photographs of both the existing and proposed replacement vehicles are also attached.

The proposed replacement vehicle is a like -kind purchase. Specifically, a 2019 Ford Explorer XLT with four-wheel drive. This
proposed replacement vehicle is available immediately through the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPQ Joint Purchast
Contract
This SPC contract is publicly bid and satisfies the Village's public bidding requirements. The local vendor for this contract is
Roesch Ford of Bensenville, Illinois.
The dealer has the desired replacement vehicle in stock and delivery of the new Explorer is expected within approximately 10
days of purchase order release.
The vehicle being replaced will be sold through the GovDeals.com Internet auction.
Alternatives:
1. Accept SPC joint bid results for the purchase of one (1) 2019 Ford Explorer XLT.
2. Discretion of the Village Board.
Staff Recommendation
Staff recommends the Village Board accept the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative Bid Contract Award #160 and authorize the
purchase of one (1) new 2019 Ford Explorer XLT, from Roesch Ford, of Bensenville, Illinois at a cost not to exceed $34,740.
