CALL TO ORDER Murphy called meeting to order at 3:01 pm. II. ROLL CALL Members Present: Sharon Anderson, Gerald "Skip" Farley, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Dale Henricksen, Linda Hoefert, Patrick Mogge, Jean Murphy, Michaele Skowron, Christy Watychowicz, John Zulaski Members Absent: Alexander Bertolucci, Ex -officio Members Present: Mayor Arlene A. Juracek, Marianthi Thanopoulos Ex -officio Members Absent: NONE Additional Village staff members present: MP Public Works Director Sean Dorsey, Fire Dept Rep Jim Miller Citizens Present: Lindsay Rice III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES November 2, 2016 Meeting Minutes Floros moved. Zulaski seconded. Motion approved. IV. CITIZENS TO BE HEARD NONE V. OLD BUSINESS A. Report: Website update — need to encourage calendar submissions - Lindsay Rice Discussion on how to remind people to submit calendar additions. A tip sheet on calendar submissions is part of the educators' material. There will be a reminder at MP Chamber January meeting. Anderson will remind groups the beginning of January. Rice proposed a gallery of pictures w/purple lights, decorations, etc. Rice and Murphy are constructing a scavenger hunt of local photos taken by Murphy. Correct guessers will be recognized on Face Book. Rice has received faith community photos and narratives. They will be included on website. Rice has added new sponsors and has purged items past current date. 3:16 pm Linda Hoefert entered. B. Report: Budget update — Jean Murphy, Mike Skowron Murphy discussed numbers. C. Report: Education — Patrick Mogge, John Zulaski Zulaski drafted a newsletter for educators that includes: how to post events on website, offers commission members for education events, includes details of 2nd round of hydrant painting, and reminds about google drive for sharing information. Mogge left meeting at 3:32 pm. D. Report: Sponsorships update — Skip Farley, Leo Floros, Christy Watychowicz $500 has been received since last meeting. Floros proposed a Herald ad to thank sponsors. Herald would make ad an "In Kind." The Herald will publish a weekly article about MP celebration through 2017 on Neighborhood Page. Randhurst pledged an additional $5000 toward Feb 3, 2017 fireworks. Floros is pursuing CVS for a sponsorship. E. Report: Fire hydrant winner presentation — Christy Watychowicz Presentation took place at VOMP board meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016. Two winners tied for recognition. Watychowicz will send draft of hydrant 2nd round application to Howard Kleinstein for review and publication. Watychowicz will work with Zulaski to notify schools. F. Report: Anniversary weekend plans — Mayor Arlene Juracek, Lindsay Rice, Sharon Anderson Re-enactment on Friday, February 3, 2017 at school house at 7:00 pm and at 4 other locations. Lions will provide hot chocolate and cookies in a tent. MP Chamber is working w/restaurants. Updated sponsorship banner will be displayed. Dorsey will talk to Police Chief about safe Crossings on major streets G. Report: Summer month of concerts etc. update — Sharon Anderson Anderson talked to Interfaith Council rep who said that June 25, 2017 may be an interfaith service. Month of July will be Centennial Branded Events. Village will publicize. All events must be named w/Centennial name. May have summer picnic to recognize village boards, commissions, and committees. H. Report: Merchandise sales update — Sharon Anderson, Jean Murphy We have more than 20 yard signs to sell. May sell at Celestial Dinner. Murphy will re -order Onesies in largest size. Report: Church bells — Jean Murphy So far three churches will ring bells at midnight on Jan1, 2017 — St. Cecilia, St. Raymond, and St. Paul. J. Report: Embracing our Differences events — John Zulaski, Alex Bertolucci Still working on activities. VI. NEW BUSINESS none VII. OTHER BUSINESS — member roundtable — additional ideas? Comments? Purple donated afghan will be offered to Women's Club for award at their fashion show. VIII. NEXT MEETINGS January 4, 2017— 3:00 p.m. January 25 — 3:00 pm March 1 — 3:00 pm All subsequent 1St Wednesdays through 2017. IX. ADJOURN At 4:55 pm Skowron moved. Henricksen seconded. Motion Passed.
